WHY?

You may wonder, why is there a Maria Genero Gallery in this website? Well, it's a short story. Back in the early 90's, there was a rock band named "STATUS UNKNOWN".  After getting bored of playing other people's music we decided to start writing original music.  During that era, there was a beautiful TV Weather girl named Maria Genero working at local South Florida Channel 6.   Newly inducted Keyboardist Mike Matisse fell in love with Maria, and decided to write a song for her that he called "Weather Girl".  We recorded the song, and sent it to Maria at Channel 6.  She called Mike and thanked him for writing the song.  After that, the band eventually broke up and we lost track of Maria Genero.

Fifteen years later, while collecting photos and old band material to do an internet blog/scrapbook of the old bands, drummer Pete Alvarez was wondering if Maria was still working, and scoured the internet searching for photos or news about her.  With the help of Maria Genero fan Stephen Potter of CA he managed to collect the very few available web photos of her.  Maria doesn't seem to be currently working and she is nowhere to be found on the airwaves.  We hope to keep on adding to the gallery, if and when more photos become available.
